Family vacations have always been a highlight of my summers. I love my family, and getting to go away and relax and do fun things together for a week or so is always a high point of my summer.
We love the Outer Banks, NC, and spend many of our summer vacations renting a house for a week in Corolla of the OBX. This year, as with most years, we decided to go the same week as many of our church friends, which happens to be the first week in June. So... last Sunday (6/5) -- the day after our church's home school High School graduation -- we packed up and headed out.
Since Clark graduated High School this year, my parents let him bring 4 friends to stay the week with our family. Ben Rossell, Chris Jones, David Remer, and Josh Hinders were perfect additions to the Dean family. :) It turned out to be a wonderful week - great weather and great fun! I may or may not have driven everyone crazy with the 1500 photos I snapped throughout the week.... But I couldn't help it! I you enjoy this first of many installments of images from our trip.

Mol and I went for a walk and met up with our lovely friends, Rachel and Katie, whose families were sharing a house that week in a neighborhood not far from ours...

If the boys had a goal for the week, it could probably be stated as "Drink as much soda as possible everyday." We calculated at the end of the week that the 5 of them (Clark and his 4 friends) drank more than 180 cans of soda across the 8 days we were there. Sick? Crazy? Gross? Impressive? You decide.
